Review what exists. Understand the exposure. Then consider appropriate protection.
SERVICES · INSURANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT
Insurance with a defined purpose.
Personal, business and institutional insurance; advanced-case resources where appropriate.
PRIVATE CLIENT & ADVANCED INSURANCE
Specialty insurance for complex needs.
For ultra-high-net-worth families, family offices and complex business owners, ERX evaluates protection requirements and explores suitable specialty insurance programs, large-case resources and underwriting alternatives through established insurance distribution relationships.
- Substantial or specialized life insurance needs
- Estate liquidity, ownership and succession funding
- Trust-owned and survivorship life insurance, structured with your estate counsel
- Complex medical or underwriting considerations
- Multi-carrier review and professional coordination, where available
LIFE INSURANCE & ESTATE CONSIDERATIONS
Life, legacy and liquidity.
Protection for family responsibilities, estate-related liquidity, beneficiary intentions and the people who depend on you. Where your estate plan calls for it, we place the life insurance that funds irrevocable trusts, equalizes inheritances among heirs, and provides liquidity for estate settlement, with policy ownership and beneficiary design directed by your estate counsel. We address insurance needs in coordination with legal and tax counsel.
- What would your family need to replace?
- Does the coverage amount still fit your responsibilities?
- Are premiums and policy obligations sustainable?
- Do ownership and beneficiary questions need attorney or tax review?
INCOME & ACCESS TO CAPITAL
Income and capital access.
Review the insurance contract’s intended role, income features, liquidity limitations and premium commitments before considering an annuity or changing existing coverage.
- When would you need income to begin?
- What funds need to remain accessible?
- What fees, limitations and surrender charges apply?
- Which benefits are guaranteed, and which are not?
INCOME PROTECTION & CARE
Income and care protection.
Disability, accident and long-term care insurance may serve distinct needs. We examine existing benefits, family responsibilities, potential care exposure and the role of appropriate coverage.
- What income or care needs could an unexpected event create?
- What do employer or existing policies already provide?
- What limitations, waiting periods and benefit triggers matter?
- Where is specialist or underwriting review required?
ENTERPRISE & INSTITUTIONAL RISK
Business continuity and liability.
We consider key-person, succession, buy-sell funding, liability and business insurance needs in the context of ownership and continuity. Specialized commercial coverages are coordinated with appropriately licensed providers as needed.
- What happens if an owner or essential person is lost?
- How would ownership and funding obligations be addressed?
- What coverage is in place for business and liability exposure?
- Which policies or specialists are needed for execution?
YOUR EXISTING POLICIES
Review existing protection.
A review starts with the contract you already own. Understand its benefits, costs and limitations before deciding whether to retain it, make a permitted adjustment or consider a replacement.
- What has changed since the policy was issued?
- Are benefits and beneficiaries still aligned with your needs?
- What valuable features could be lost in a change?
- What must be confirmed before existing coverage is altered?
THE RESULT OF A REVIEW
Identified exposures, gaps or overlaps in existing coverage, insurance options to evaluate, and clear next steps for underwriting or coordination with other professionals.
BEFORE WE TALK
Before we begin.
What should I expect from the first conversation? +
We talk about what you want to accomplish, what is getting in the way and the responsibilities that matter most to you. Then we identify whether an insurance review would help, what information is needed and which questions require your other professionals. We agree on the scope and next steps before further work.
What should I bring to a review? +
Recent policy or annuity statements, a description of your goals, and questions about benefits, premiums or access to funds. We will arrange an appropriate way to exchange documents. Please do not send medical records, Social Security numbers or account details through ordinary email.
Does this replace my attorney, CPA or investment adviser? +
No. This insurance review has a defined scope. Your attorney, CPA and investment adviser remain responsible for advice within their respective engagements. Questions that require their expertise are directed to them.
How do we discuss costs and compensation? +
You should understand how compensation is paid, including any commissions or applicable fees, along with product costs and surrender charges. Those questions belong in the conversation before you make a commitment.
